To facilitate access to finance for producers , traders linked to the agrarian sector and other actors in the value chain, the Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM) and the Mozambique Merchandise Exchange (BMM), signed yesterday, November 30, a Memorandum of Understanding.

The partnership aims to ensure that BVM does the registration, financial settlement and clearing of the Deposit Certificate issued by BMM, which will provide a direct financing mechanism for economic actors linked to agriculture. the national agricultural sector. Goods deposit will be confirmed with a certificate of possession issued by BMM or by other public and private entities licensed by it.

Speaking during the ceremony, the PCM of BVM, Salim Valá, made it known that the operationalization of the agreement represents an important milestone for foreseeing the incorporation of the certificate of tenure as a mechanism for agrarian financing. “It will benefit the rural economy as a whole, in a context in which around 66% of the country's population lives in rural areas” It was with satisfaction that he recognized the use of the BVM Securities Center is fundamental to promote transparency and good governance in the Mozambican capital market.
